The student body is composed of all registered students of the University of South Carolina Lancaster campus.

Officers and Student Representatives of the SGA are elected by the student body in two separate elections held in the fall and spring. Officers and representative of the SGA work closely with the administation and faculty to represent student interests and viewpoints.

The SGA provides various programs and functions throughtout the year, charters clubs and organizations, and prepares, submits, and administers the budget for student clubs, organizations, publications, and athletics.

SGA meetings are held on a weekly basis and all students are welcomed to attend as observers. Meetings are held on Thursdays each week at 12:15, with the Executive committee meeting followed by the SGA general session.
