Mahaffee Wins Best in Show
at Art Competition
Dianne Mahaffee, adjunct professor of ceramics and art education
at USC Lancaster, recently won Best in Show and a cash prize at
the Bite of the Apple art competition for her ceramic
sculptural raku-fired pot entitled, "Pot Creating Itself.” This
contest, hosted by the Civic & Cultural Arts Center of Pineville,
encourages art teachers from North and South Carolina to create
art outside the classroom and submit their works to juried competitions. Mahaffee’s
sculpture is on display through February at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Government Center in North Carolina. In addition to teaching at
USCL, Mahaffee teaches art full-time at Lancaster High School.
