If I’m going to make a vase, I usually build it up as high as the bowl I want and then I let it set and dry and let it get to where it will hold the neck that goes on it, and put part of the neck on it. And I put the rolls up there and then I let it get as high as I’m going to make it; and then I’ll trim it off and let it set.
