Congratulations!
You surely know a lot more about Medford Library now! We hope that you have learned some of the basics to make your research more successful and more enjoyable.

A few last words of advice:

bullet Don't be shy about asking for help. Our staff is here to provide you assistance in your research. We won't do it for you, but we can point you in the right direction and steer you away from dead ends.

bulletDon't expect to do all of your research on the Internet. Some of your best resources may be in print. (To believe everything from the Internet is absolute truth is a big mistake. See our Web Tutorial section on Evaluating Quality on the Web.)

bullet Start your research when it is assigned, rather than waiting until it's due. The best resources may be those which must be taken advantage of early. For instance, you may need to use InterLibrary Loan, and you have to allow up to a week to ten days for those items to arrive. Also, consider the possibility that someone else may be writing about your topic, and what if they get to those books first?!?!?!

bulletAlways have your barcoded USCL ID with you when in the Library. You'll need it if you want to check something out.

We hope you've enjoyed your virtual tour of Medford Library.
Next time, come visit the real thing!
