Adjunct Faculty

The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC is accepting applications for adjunct instructors in the following disciplines:

  • Economics
  • History
  • Mathematics
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Theatre/Speech (Public Speaking)
  • Sociology

Candidates may be asked to teach daytime, evening, distance education, and off-campus courses as needed. Courses are compensated at a rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Applicants must possess a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline, with credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach courses. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level. Adjunct Faculty of Theatre/Speech (Public Speaking)

The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC is accepting applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Theatre/Speech (Public Speaking). This position may include the offering of evening classes and distributed learning classes as needed. Course are compensated at a rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Applicants must possess a graduate degree in English, Rhetoric, Theatre, or related field, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach SPCH 140 (Public Communication). Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level. Student Services Program Coordinator I (Upward Bound Academic Specialist)
Full-time, Temporary, Grant-Funded position
Band 4, Minimum Salary $28,752 annually

The Student Services Program Coordinator I (Upward Bound Academic Specialist) will assist the director in the administration of the Upward Bound project and participate in planning, developing, implementing, and delivering project programs and services.  The Upward Bound Academic Specialist will serve as liaison between school personnel, project staff, students, and parents.  The coordinator will also participate in the recruitment of program participants, provide direct services to participants, and render related services as required or directed. This position is established in support of expanded research activities or projects. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Upward Bound Program summer staff and volunteers. This position requires a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services or related field, or a bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience.  Successful applicants must have knowledge of collegiate academic and financial aid procedures. The Student Services Program Coordinator I (Upward Bound Cultural and Career Specialist) develops and implements an array of approved cultural and career initiatives and opportunities for students in the Upward Bound Program. This position will assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of student office assistants. The position requires a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Successful applicants must have knowledge and experience in program management, development, and monitoring.  Must have experience in motivating students towards cultural and career growth.  Experience conducting training and educational workshops is essential. Must have excellent organizational skills.  Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience working with low-income, first generation, and minority populace is preferred.
