Assistant Professor of Spanish
The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC, seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Spanish beginning August 16, 2012. Applicants should hold the PhD in Spanish or Comparative Literature, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach selected Spanish courses. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level. Credentials to gain departmental approval to teach additional foreign languages are highly desirable. The position will normally require the teaching of four courses per semester or its equivalent, including evening and distance education classes as needed, as well as a commitment to scholarship and university/community service. Student Services Program Coordinator I
(Financial Aid Counselor/ Loan Officer)
Band 4, Minimum Salary $ 27,369 per year
The Student Services Program Coordinator I (Financial Aid Counselor) is responsible for processing applications and awarding Student Financial Aid for a case load of no less than five hundred (500) individuals. The Financial Aid Counselor also assists the Director of Financial Aid in all aspects of the financial aid process and administration. Duties include counseling students about financial aid issues, processing financial aid applications (ISIR review, Verification), awarding financial aid, managing the regional campus responsibilities within the Direct Loan Program and private loans, and working other related reports on a regular and timely basis. The Financial Aid counselor will also be responsible for answering student and parent questions regarding financial aid eligibility and the application process. The Financial Aid Counselor is directly responsible for managing all loan programs for the institution. The position requires a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services or related field, or a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years related experience. Successful applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Two years experience in Student Financial Aid, the Direct Loan Program, Student Information Systems, knowledge of Federal and State Student Aid regulations, and basic accounting knowledge is preferred.
