Assistant Professor of Astronomy
The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus
of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five
(35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for a tenure-track
Assistant Professorship in Astronomy beginning August 16, 2013. Applicants
should hold the Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Astronomy or
a related field, including credentials necessary for departmental
approval to teach introductory and advanced Astronomy courses
and selected courses in Physics. Preference will be given
to candidates with experience teaching at the university level.
The position will normally require the teaching of three lectures
and two labs per semester or its equivalent, including evening
and distance education classes as needed, as well as a commitment
to scholarship and university/community service. Applicants should

Adjunct Faculty - Statistics
The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus
of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five
(35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks qualified adjunct (part-time)
faculty with credentials necessary for departmental approval to
offer 100- and 200-level Statistics courses. Minimum requirements
are a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester
hours in Statistics. A key attribute for the selected applicant
is the willingness to work with under prepared students. Preference
will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university
level. This appointment is on a course-by-course basis. Applicants
