UNCLASSIFIED POSITIONS

Assistant Professor of Native American Studies and History

The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC, seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor of Native American Studies and History position beginning August 16, 2017. Applicants should hold the Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Native American history, culture or a related field including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach history, Native American studies, anthropology, women’s studies, southern studies, or any combination. The position will normally require the teaching of twelve credit hours per semester or its equivalent, including evening and distributed learning courses as needed, as well as a commitment to scholarship and university/community service. In addition, the position will require outreach with Native American communities. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level.
USC Lancaster is home to the state's only Native American Studies Center.
