USC Lancaster Speech and English Professor Howard Kingkade wrote the original screenplay for Hole in the Paper Sky. 

It runs 34 minutes and stars Jessica Biel ("The Illusionist"), Jason Clarke (star of Showtime Channel's "Brotherhood") Garry Marshall (director of "Pretty Woman" )  Jeffrey Nordling ("Dirt" on the FX channel) Stephen Collins ("7th Heaven"), and Buster the Dog ("Bruce Almighty")    

The story centers around a Math PhD student who befriends a doomed laboratory dog. It was shot in Los Angeles in January 2007.

The film has been entered in Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival and will also be entered in a number of other film festivals including the Cannes and the Berlin International Film Festival.
