EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION OF USC LANCASTER

METHODS OF GIVING

Scholarships

The need for scholarships continues to grow as the student enrollment increases. This need has become more pressing due to a number of factors. Many of our students are working their way through college and these monies allow more time for study. A typically endowed scholarship can be created for $10,000.00.

The Educational Foundation of the University of South Carolina Lancaster will allow someone to create this endowment within five years. Smaller gifts may be added to existing scholarships or given to the overall endowment. Various scholarships are available to deserving students, students talented in various disciplines, nursing, criminal justice, social science, education, business and engineering.

Expectations

There are certain expectations that go along with the prestige of being a scholarship recipient. These expectations insure the quality and continuity of USC Lancaster’s exceptional program. Recipients must maintain a high grade point average, take an honors course each semester, and attend the yearly scholarship program. This gives our contributors the chance to meet the student recipient. Also this allows USC Lancaster the chance to show its thanks to our fine scholarship contributors.

For more information on contributing to the University of South Carolina’s scholarship program, contact Ralph Garris at 803-313-7026.

Your gift to the Educational Foundation of the University of South Carolina Lancaster can be made by contacting Ralph Garris at 803-313-7026 or writing to Mr. Garris at USC Lancaster, P.O. Box 889, Lancaster, SC, 29721.

Your donation can be made in a manner that suits your financial situation. Your  financial contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution to a tax-exempt non-profit educational organization as described in Section 501C (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Ralph Garris will be happy to explain the various benefits of various methods of contributions to include the following:

Memorials
Cash contributions
Gifts in Kind

Living Trust
Securities
Real Estate
Planned or deferred gifts

How Contributions are Utilized

The University of South Carolina Lancaster needs monies to assist in its operation not customarily available from the state. Your gift may be restricted for a specific purpose or program; or it may be unrestricted, thus permitting use of it where needs are greatest.  Monies under $10,000 are utilized for the wishes of the contributor provided they meet IRS rules.

All gifts will be used for the exclusive benefit of USC Lancaster.
