On behalf of the University of South Carolina at Lancaster, let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the campus. I am confident that you will find that you have made a positive decision to start your university career here. We are blessed with an excellent faculty and staff  whose primary concern is your success. Our facilities are first rate and continue to improve. We enjoy the support of the citizens of our service area, the business community and the legislative delegation. You are privileged to be counted among the academic community at USCL.

But remember that no privilege comes without its duties. You are expected to contribute to the academic and cultural life of this campus by class attendance and participation, by attendance at our cultural events, and by giving back to the Lancaster community in the form of service. As a campus we emphasize these responsibilities and as a student you will be expected to play a major role.

Don’t forget to enjoy your time with us. These are years that you will remember for the rest of your life as a time of change and learning, but also as a time of fun and excitement. I look forward to meeting each of you and I encourage you to tell me of any problems that you might encounter.
