The CarolinaCard  at USC Lancaster
The new, all-in-one passport to campus life at USC, the CarolinaCard, is your permanent University ID. CarolinaCard is required:

• for admission to student events on campus;
• for checking out books in Medford Library;
• for identification purposes when on campus.

Getting Your CarolinaCard
Your student/faculty/staff CarolinaCard (your permanent ID card) is issued at a cost of $10.00.

To verify your identity, you must provide one of the following at the time your card is made:

• United States Driver's License
• Military ID
• Passport

All IDs are made in the Business Office located in Starr Hall 120.

Replacing your USC Lancaster ID:
At this time, no one is required to replace their existing USC Lancaster ID card, but it is strongly recommended. USC Lancaster ID cards issued from the "Polaroid" system will not work with your CarolinaCash account.

Lost or Stolen Cards:
Lost or stolen cards should be immediately reported through the CarolinaCard website, available 24 hours a day through VIP. You are liable for any unauthorized use of your lost or stolen CarolinaCard, and all accounts on it, until the University is notified. If you find your card, you can simply reactivate it through VIP the same way you deactivated it.

CarolinaCash:
The CarolinaCash account associated with CarolinaCard can be used as a flexible spending card.  Each time you make a purchase, the amount of the purchase is deducted from your account balance. Use the card at::

• the USC Lancaster Bookstore and Campus Shop (now available)
• many drink machines on campus (coming Fall 2007)

Depositing Money to the Card
You have a choice of convenient ways to make deposits to the card.

• Use the VIP system when you pay your fees and select optional fees. At all other times of the year, go to the Financial tab on VIP and click on the CarolinaCard deposit button.  Online VIP deposits will require knowing the student’s Social Security Number and PIN.
• Credit Card deposits can be taken over the phone at 803-777-1708 (Monday through Friday only, 8:30 - 5:00).
