. Performs various jail duties, including continuously monitoring prisoners, ensuring bonds are set,

scheduling medical and dental treatment, ordering meals, transferring prisoners, and maintaining jail log.

. Enters data into and obtains information from the National Crime Information Computer (NCIC) system,

including but not limited to information pertaining to stolen goods, missing persons, driver's licenses,

automobile records, warrants, criminal histories, etc.

. Enters/obtains data to/from the network computer.

. Operates a paging system as necessary for paging officers, court personnel, fire department personnel,

and various other agency personnel.

. Maintains rotation list for City-licensed wrecker services; contacts services upon request.

. Receives complaints/alarms; contacts water department in emergency and non-emergency situations;

notifies answering services of complaint for notification of on-call personnel. Reports repair requests to

proper department for streets, lights, and other items/facilities in need of service.

. Receives complaints of activated burglar/fire alarms; notifies appropriate personnel as required.

. Prepares and/or processes a variety of documents, including but not limited to activity logs, punch cards,

work orders, NCIC logs, driver history logs, warrant cards, jail logs, medical prisoner transport forms,

NCIC entry sheets/cancel/clear sheets, second-party check forms, overtime forms, monthly reports, etc.

Requirements:

Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by two to four months of dispatching or related experience. Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of situations. Must be certified in

Communications, E-911, and CJICS-NCIC operations. Must have good computer skills and be familiar with various software applications. Must be able to perform data entry quickly and accurately under stressful conditions.

A Personal Care II Aide HASCI Attendant HASCI Respite Aide is a member of the home care team who

assists the Participant with the tasks of daily living as outlined in a written care plan that is established by a

Case Manager and is kept in the client's home. Personal Care Assistants are supervised by the RN

Supervisor at this Agency and receive scheduling direction from the Agency Office/ Staffing Coordinator.

 

The duties of an aide may include, but are not limited to the following:

 

l. Recording pertinent information pertaining to the Participant's care'

to take medication at the appropriate time prescribed by the physician'

2. Reminding the participant. The aide ii not responsible for giving the medication: this does not preclude the aide from handing the medicine container to the participant'


3. Monitoring the participant's condition may include but not limited to unless specified in care

plan or instructed by Supervisor in case of emergencies .e.9. monitoring temperature, checking

pulse rate, observing respiration rate pattern, and blood pressure.

4. Planning and preparing meals according to specific dietary requirements of the Participant, and if

necessary, feeding the client.

5. Assisting the client with exercises under the direction of a Physician e.g. strength and balance

training.

6. Assisting or performing personal care including hair care, oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, and

dressing.

7. Assisting participant in and out of bed, reposition participant as necessary.

8. Assisting with ambulation with or without mechanical aids.

9 Assisting with routine bodily functions: Example, toileting and maintaining continence.

10. Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment through light housekeeping including

changing bed linens, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, and laundry.

11. Providing companionship and stimulation for the client including reading, walks, etc.; and

accompanying the client to doctors or other appointments.

12. Grocery shopping or other errands when needed.

13. Performing other housekeeping tasks as indicated in the care plan.

14. Accompany/ transport patient to any appointments or social events as necessary. Transportation

must be included in the participant's service/care plan.

15. Observing and reporting changes in client's condition to this agency's RN Supervisor.

16. Accurately preparing daily records and submitting them to the office by date due.

17. Participating in in-service education programs.

Employee may not:

1. Administer or pour medication as mandated by law.

2. Perform any type of heavy housework such as cleaning stoves with oven cleaners, moving heavy

furniture or appliances, etc.

Requirements:

l. An Aide for these services must have a minimum of 6 months of personal care experience which

is verifiable through references, and must complete this agency's employment and certification

Process.

2. Must be at least l8 years of age

3. Must obtain and maintain First aide and CPR certification, per agency's policy.

4. Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position. Must be fully ambulatory.

5. Must exhibit mature responsible behavior, and understand the need for patient confidentiality.

6. Must be able to read, write and communicate with the Supervisor able to use the IVR Call Care

System.

7. Must be able to follow a written care plan with minimal supervision and accurately report to the

Supervisor any changes in participant’s condition.

8. Must provide a statement that he/she has never been involved in a substantiated case of abuse or

neglect: This statement will be verified by a criminal background investigation.

9. Must have documented passing competency testing or successfully completed a competency

training and evaluation program, performed by Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

prior to providing services to a home and community based wavier participants. The competency

must contain all elements of the PCII services listed below.

10. Must have a minimum often (10) hours relevant in-service training/education. (the annual ten

hour requirement will be on a prorated basis during the aide's first year of employment')

I l. When providing attendant services for HASCI waiver participants aides must complete a training

program in the following areas:

a. Confidentiality, accountability and HIPPA regulations.

b. Recognizing and prevention of abuse and neglect.

c. fire Safety disaster preparedness related to the specific location of the services'

d. First aide for emergencies, monitoring medications and basic recognition of medical

Problems.

e. Orientation to traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury and other similar common

disabilities.

f. Back safety and the training in proper lifting and transfers techniques'

g. Ethics and interpersonal relationships.

12. Must have available reliable transportation to and from assignments. If transporting necessary,

aides must have a valid driver's license. The Agency will perform an initial inspection of the

official highway department driving record .A copy of this record will be maintained in the

employee's personnel fi le.
