Lancers Lose Close Match at Columbia College
October 1, 2009
The
Lancers' women's tennis team lost a close match 4-3 Thursday
afternoon against Columbia College. On a beautiful fall
day in Columbia, the Lancers' played their best fall match of
the season. The women competed at a high level and were
clearly the more conditioned team, but it was not enough to beat
the Koalas. After splitting the doubles points, USCL won
matches at number one and two singles. Despite battling
hard, the Lancers lost at number three, four, and five singles.
“This is a great result for
us and it tells our team that we are heading in the right direction. I
know the girls are looking forward to playing them in the spring”, said
Head Coach Brian Clark.
The women will practice
on Friday and then be back in action on Sunday, October 4th, at
Spartanburg Methodist College.
