Native American Studies Art Collection

Mission

The mission of this collection is to bring greater attention to the history and culture of South Carolina's indigenous peoples through preservation projects, exhibits, pottery loans, publications, and other public projects.

Vision

Although the collection’s current focus is on the tribes from South Carolina, the vision for the collection is to one day have diverse holdings of Southeastern Native American artwork including--but not limited to-- ceramics, fibers, paintings, drawings, and sculpture.
