JOY OF THE ART. [M]y husband made good money; I didnt have to make [pottery]. But, you know, I just loved to fool with them! I can rub them good and smooth, you know, and not just botch them up and set them up there because I could sell it, maybe, to somebody. I always try to make it look as good as I can, even for myself. . . . I know making fast and sloppy . . . is bad any time. . . . I believe you could always sell a good pot to somebody that wants something good, [not] somebody that just wants something Indian-made. . . . [I]f they want it bad enough, theyll buy it. --Georgia Harris on Selling Pottery and the Quality of Her Work [image: owl effigy by Georgia Harris]
